The Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Life | Vanderbilt University
Is a taste center and a place of averment for individuals of all identities, and a resource for message and substantiation about gender and sexuality. LGBTQI Life serves all members of the Vanderbilt community — students, faculty, staff, and alumni — by creating educational, cultural, and multi-ethnic opportunities. The office also supports and advises LGBTQI-related campus groups and activities.
Safe Spaces for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Youth
The off the hook Spaces computer program consists of community-based organizations presently working with LGBTQ youth, to provide services that are trauma-informed, founded in advantageous Youth Development, and are culturally expedient and particular to LGBTQ youth. Services provided inside off the hook Spaces production to promote self-esteem, growth social connectedness and resilience, and decrease chance for suicidal behaviors (and self -harm). Services are housed inside a setting that provides safety, support, and allows young person to be their whole-selves inside the space; not having to compartmentalize their varied identities in order to fit in or feel safe.
